Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said talks with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on October 4 produced agreements worth more than €8.5 billion. He said the two countries had 15 agreements and documents, mostly concerning security cooperation, production, procurement, orders for German industry and joint projects in Ukraine. Germany’s new support package exceeds €1.3 billion and includes weapons and energy assistance ahead of winter. Zelenskyy said a special agreement was signed to expand their joint efforts against drones, and the leaders discussed Ukraine’s air-defense needs.
