1. Information we use
We collect information you provide when using the Service: account and contact details; optional profile information, including your photo, background, country, occupation and interests; content and messages; subscriptions; saved items, follows, settings and activity in interactive features; and requests, reports and correspondence.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies your account identifier, email, verification status and profile information. We use this information for sign-in, account features, profile safety checks and the account-linked uses described below.
We also collect usage and diagnostic information, including pages and interactions, device and browser information, IP address and approximate location, request and error details, and browser or app identifiers. Signed-in analytics include your account identifier and email and link earlier activity on the same device to your account. Diagnostics may also identify the account involved in an error.
Where app features are enabled, we process notification tokens and preferences to deliver alerts, and installation and version information to provide content updates. Public profile information and content are visible according to the feature and your privacy settings. Information you submit may include sensitive details you choose to provide.
2. Purposes and legal bases
We use information to provide the Service and requested communications, manage accounts and preferences, improve the Service, protect users, screen content, prevent abuse, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Automated checks may reject profile names or photos; you can request review using our contact details.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating, improving and protecting the Service, compliance with law, and consent where required. Required account or contact information is necessary to provide the feature you request; optional profile information is voluntary. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
3. Cookies and choices
We use cookies and similar device storage for sign-in, security, preferences, diagnostics and analytics. Optional analytics and diagnostic storage are disabled where consent is required.
The sign-in cookie lasts up to 365 days, the analytics cookie up to 400 days after use, and your analytics choice 180 days. Other preferences and browser storage remain until cleared or reset by the feature. These are first-party identifiers, processed by us and the providers described below.
You can manage device storage in your browser or app settings. Blocking necessary storage may prevent features from working. You can unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in a message and manage app notifications in the app or device settings.
4. Sharing
We share information with providers that support hosting, storage, communications, sign-in, notifications, analytics, security and automated content-safety checks. These providers receive the information needed for their functions, including submitted profile content for safety checks. App stores and sign-in providers also process information under their own notices.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Retention and security
We retain account information and submitted content while needed for the relevant features, until deletion where available. Newsletter records remain while subscribed; limited records may remain to honor an unsubscribe. Analytics are retained for long-term comparisons of Service use without a fixed deletion date. Diagnostic events expire after 12 months and app content-update records after 30 days.
Some records may remain as necessary for security, legal obligations, disputes or enforcement, and backups remain until their ordinary rotation. We use safeguards designed to protect personal information; no system guarantees absolute security.
6. Your rights
You can update your profile or delete your account. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision on a privacy request. We handle requests and appeals under applicable law and may verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority. Requests are free unless the law permits a fee or refusal. We do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
You may complain to the relevant privacy regulator. Where applicable, recognized browser opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, apply to the activities they cover; we do not sell or share information for advertising as described above.
7. International processing and children
Information is processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Contact us with questions about international processing.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. Account and interactive features are for adults. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied information that we should remove under applicable law.
8. Changes
We may update this notice and will provide any notice or obtain any consent required by law. The effective date identifies the current notice.
