Israel’s High Court on Sunday rejected the Democrats party’s petition to disqualify Otzma Yehudit, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and MK Tally Gotliv from the October 27 election. The court said the Democrats lacked statutory standing to appeal the Central Elections Committee’s approval of the party slate. The individual-candidate requests lacked support from at least one-third of committee members, and the court also found significant delay in bringing the petition. Justice Ofer Grosskopf’s ruling, joined by justices Dafna Barak-Erez and Khaled Kabub, dismissed the case procedurally without deciding the disqualification allegations on their merits.
