Yisrael Beytenu Says It Will Vote to Disqualify Ra’am and Joint List

Yisrael Beytenu said on September 23 that its representatives on Israel's Central Elections Committee will vote to disqualify Ra’am and the Joint List from the coming Knesset election. The party said it would also vote against the candidacies of Knesset member Ofer Cassif and Balad chair Sami Abou Shahadeh. In its statement, the party argued that the next Zionist government should put eliminating Hamas at the center of its security policy and that parties opposing that objective should not sit in the Knesset. The announcement states how the party's committee representatives intend to vote; it is not a committee decision.
