Prosecutors filed an indictment in the Central District Court in Lod on October 5 against an unnamed Bar-Ilan mathematics lecturer, charging him with preparing an act of terrorism, extortion by threats and obstruction of justice. The indictment alleges preparations from February 2023 until his arrest on September 17, 2026. It describes a plan for 72 attackers in 12 cells of six to attack Arab communities and mixed cities, intending to force residents to flee. Prosecutors say recruitment attempts failed; the indictment also alleges reconnaissance around Tuba-Zanghariya and threatening letters following unsuccessful approaches to Moshe Feiglin.
