Katz Says 4,000 of 6,000 October 7 Attackers Have Been Killed

Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Monday that about 4,000 of the 6,000 terrorists who crossed into Israel during the October 7, 2023 attack have been killed, leaving about 2,000. Katz said he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had instructed the security establishment to pursue and kill all those involved, from senior figures to lower-ranking participants. He said the directive applied without restrictions and in every situation. Katz presented the pursuit alongside Israel's stated goals of dismantling Hamas and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.
