The IDF announced Thursday that separate Tuesday strikes in Gaza City and Jabalia killed two commanders who entered Israel during the October 7, 2023 massacre. It identified them as Hamas cell commander Muhammad Jamal Mahmoud Abu Al-Shaar and Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander Musab Abd al-Jalil Saqib Balbisi. The military said Abu Al-Shaar entered Kibbutz Be’eri and helped abduct six people to Gaza. It said both men had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians in violation of the ceasefire. The IDF said it used precision munitions and aerial surveillance to mitigate civilian harm.
