Trump Signs Law Exposing China and India to Tariffs of Up to 100%

President Donald Trump signed the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. The law permits duties of up to 100% on goods from countries that continue new Russian oil or gas purchases after 30 days and rank among the five largest buyers or facilitators of sanctions evasion. The South China Morning Post identified China and India as leading buyers exposed to the measure. China rejected unsupported unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction, while India said it would protect energy security for 1.4 billion people through diversified sourcing.
