Abu Zaida Says He Carried Sinwar Message to Israel Before October 7

Former Palestinian Authority prisoner-affairs minister Sufian Abu Zaida says he was the intermediary who carried a message from Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar to Israel before the October 7 attack. In a Facebook video, Abu Zaida said he spent roughly 18 months involved in Israel-Hamas contacts over a possible exchange. Walla reported that he identified himself as the previously anonymous source called “Coal Eyes.” The earlier account said Sinwar warned of a “huge surprise” if negotiations did not advance; Abu Zaida said he would disclose more details later.
