CENTCOM Puts Iran War Cost at $43.6 Billion Through September 3

U.S. Central Command estimated that operations against Iran cost $43.6 billion through September 3, according to assessments delivered to Congress and reviewed by Bloomberg Government and CQ Roll Call. The estimate includes about $11.2 billion in operating costs, $28.1 billion to replace expended munitions and $4.3 billion to replace lost equipment. Service operating costs include roughly $6.6 billion for the Air Force, $2.2 billion for the Navy, $1.6 billion for the Army and $10.5 million for U.S. Cyber Command. The total excludes damage to U.S. bases across the Middle East and future costs.
