Mexico Says Operation Águila Alta Neutralized Four Border Drones

Mexican Defense Secretary Ricardo Trevilla Trejo said Operation Águila Alta has neutralized four commercial drones on Mexico’s side of the Tijuana-San Diego border. He said the aircraft carried neither weapons nor explosives and were used to monitor routes for illegal migrant crossings. In the latest incident, U.S. authorities detected a drone before it returned toward Tijuana, where Mexican forces disabled it and detained the suspected operator. Trevilla said Mexico neutralized all four drones, while U.S. authorities neutralized none; he said the operation began September 7 and is scheduled to end September 21.
