Nepal Flood Body-Recovery Count Rises to 669

Nepal Police said 669 bodies had been recovered by 4 p.m. Saturday after the Bhotekoshi flood, up from an official count of 626 earlier in the day. Authorities said 2,426 people remained unaccounted for, while more than 4,450 people had been rescued, including over 187 foreign nationals. Recovery teams found 248 bodies in Chitwan, 158 in East Nawalparasi and 75 in West Nawalparasi, with others recovered across five districts. Nepal requested international help for tunnel rescue, survivor detection, forensic identification and morgue operations as crews searched the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower site.
