I condemn in the strongest terms the cowardly attack carried out by the Houthi militia and targeting civilian facilities and energy installations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in many people being injured. Pakistan stands firmly and in solidarity alongside the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the brotherly Saudi people. Such vile attacks threaten the lives of innocent people, as well as regional peace and security. We reaffirm our steadfast support for the Kingdom's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and pray to God for the speedy recovery of all the injured.

On Defence and Martyrs Day, we salute the immortal courage of our martyrs, the valour of our veterans and the unwavering resolve of their families. Their sacrifices are the sacred trust upon which Pakistan’s freedom, sovereignty and security stand. From the battlefields of 1965 to the resounding success of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, our Armed Forces have demonstrated that the spirit of 6 September remains undiminished. The entire nation stands with immense pride behind the brave sons and daughters of the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy. Pakistan desires peace, but our commitment to peace must never be mistaken for weakness. We possess both the will and the capability to defend every inch of our homeland and to decisively defeat terrorism and aggression in all their forms. Let us honour our martyrs by forging a Pakistan that is united, peaceful, economically strong and faithful to the Quaid’s principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline. May Allah Almighty elevate the ranks of our martyrs and forever protect our beloved homeland.

Today, I was honoured to address the SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting in Bishkek as Pakistan assumed the SCO Chairmanship for 2027. I congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on successfully hosting the Summit and steering the Organization with distinction. Guided by the Shanghai Spirit, the SCO has emerged over the past 25 years as a vital forum for regional cooperation. Recalling Pakistan’s immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, I reiterated that terrorism must be condemned in all its forms and manifestations. I also reminded the SCO family that water is the lifeblood of our region: it must never be weaponised, and binding treaties governing shared waters must be honoured in letter and spirit. Pakistan will conduct its Chairmanship under the theme: “Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.” I am confident that the SCO will continue to grow from strength to strength and bring meaningful improvements to the lives of its more than three billion people.
