Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a Tuesday-evening television interview that an Egyptian aircraft carrying Abbas Kamel, Egypt's then-intelligence chief, landed in Israel shortly before the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre. Netanyahu denied meeting Kamel and said he did not know whom the Egyptian official met. He said he was at Mount Herzl when the aircraft landed and called for the visit to be investigated. Netanyahu pointed to cameras and footage as ways to identify those involved, saying he wanted to know the truth.
