IDF Publishes Detailed NAZA Rebuttal, Says Humans Approve Gaza Strikes

Israel's military published a detailed response on October 1 to the documentary NAZA, disputing its account of Gaza targeting. The IDF said intelligence personnel identify targets, officers plan attacks and commanders make final decisions, with artificial intelligence unable to select strike targets independently. It described Lavender as an intelligence research database, rather than a list of approved targets. The military said its rules do not automatically permit strikes based on preset civilian-casualty allowances and that evacuation warnings do not remove obligations toward remaining civilians. It also said the film omits Hamas's October 7 attack and its use of civilian surroundings.
