President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered three days of national mourning and flags at half-mast across Nigeria after an Air Force ATR-42 crashed in Ondo State. The presidency said the aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed near a naval base in Igbokoda, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members. Tinubu directed a thorough investigation after a briefing by Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. He commended the immediate search-and-rescue response. The presidency said the Air Force would release the names of deceased officers after notifying their families.
