South Korean President Lee Jae Myung ordered an AI-focused security overhaul at an October 6 Cabinet meeting in Seoul after saying some recent hacking cases showed signs of possible artificial-intelligence use. He told authorities to establish what happened swiftly and concentrate personnel and resources on minimizing damage. Lee called for capabilities to detect and block attacks in advance, faster development and adoption of cybersecurity AI, and immediate security reviews across private-sector and national core systems. Authorities had not disclosed which AI tools might have been used or the full extent of the breaches.
