Kim Yo Jong Denies North Korean Role in DMZ Mine Blasts, Warns of Retaliation

Kim Yo Jong denied on September 30 that North Korea planted mines linked to explosions that injured three South Korean soldiers in the Demilitarized Zone on September 21. She accused Seoul of fabricating its preliminary findings and said North Korean border units would retaliate if South Korean troops fired directly at soldiers working on border fortifications. South Korea's military said it found a North Korean antipersonnel mine near the blast site during a joint inspection with the United Nations Command. Seoul has not yet announced final findings on the explosions.
