Israel's under-21 side beat Slovenia 3–2 at Mestni stadion Ptuj on September 29 in qualifying for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship. Slovenia's Dino Kojić scored in the seventh minute before Tay Abed equalized for Israel in the 27th. Ran Binyamin put Israel ahead in the 48th minute, and Mitja Ilenič made it 2–2 in the 74th. Niv Yehoshua scored Israel's winner in the 90th minute. The result left Israel second in Group G on 10 points from seven matches, according to the Slovenian Football Association's match record.
