Fito's Wife and Daughter Arrive in Ecuador After Expulsion From Colombia

Inda Mariela Peñarrieta and Michelle Macías, the wife and daughter of Los Choneros leader José Adolfo Macías Villamar, known as Fito, arrived in Guayaquil late on September 29 after being expelled from Colombia. Ecuador's Interior Minister John Reimberg said they would be transferred to La Roca prison and face justice in Ecuador. Both are accused of money laundering in the Blanqueo Fito case and were called to trial in March 2026. They were arrested in Sabana de Torres, Santander, on September 27 in an operation involving Colombian and Ecuadorian authorities with FBI support.
