EU Sanctions Former RT France Chief Xenia Fedorova Over Pro-Russian Narratives

The Council of the European Union on September 24 added Xenia Fedorova, a Russian national who was president and director of information of RT France from 2017 to 2022, to its sanctions list over Russia’s destabilising activities. The listing freezes her assets in the EU, bars making funds available to her and bans her from entering or transiting the bloc. The Council said she disseminates pro-Russian narratives in France and the EU, portraying Western support for Ukraine as prolonging the war and questioning accounts of the deportation of Ukrainian children. It noted that French authorities adopted an expulsion measure against her in July 2026.
