Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of an archival official portrait of President Donald Trump in a blue suit before a United States flag and dark wooden interior; it does not depict the September 2026 credential deactivations or reporters being denied White House entry, rendered in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel strokes.

The White House denied entry Saturday to CNN reporter Betsy Klein, MS NOW reporter Akayla Gardner and Politico reporter Cheyenne Haslett after their credentials were deactivated. Gardner said her badge flashed red at an interior scanner and was confiscated after she had passed two outdoor checkpoints; Klein and Haslett also reported that their passes were taken. All three outlets said they would defend their First Amendment rights. President Donald Trump had announced the exclusions Friday after criticizing their coverage, and he was at Camp David during Saturday’s denials.
