Peru’s Third National Criminal Appeals Chamber granted former president Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s appeal and definitively archived the aggravated money-laundering and illicit-association case over alleged irregular financing of his 2016 presidential campaign. The panel reversed a May 4 ruling that had denied dismissal of four alleged acts. It ordered police, criminal and judicial records from the proceeding cancelled, while preserving the state’s ability to pursue civil reparation. Prosecutors had alleged false donors, fundraising dinners, candidate loans and transfers to campaign treasurers.
