Kenya's Ministry of Health confirmed an eighth Ebola case on October 18, identifying the latest patient as a 49-year-old man who is not a healthcare worker. The ministry said the man had fever, headache and muscle pain. Its daily response update reported that 38 people were tested that day, with one positive result. Director-General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth confirmed the additional infection, which raised the country's cumulative number of confirmed cases from seven to eight, according to the ministry's announcement.
