Israel's Defense Ministry said on October 6 that about 30,000 wounded military and security personnel had entered its Rehabilitation Department since October 7, 2023. Among that wartime group, 63% experience psychological reactions and 37% have physical injuries. The department now treats 91,200 patients from Israel's military campaigns, including 42,500 with mental-health conditions or post-traumatic stress disorder. It forecasts a caseload of about 100,000 by 2028, with half requiring mental-health care. The figures describe rehabilitation admissions and treatment needs, rather than a total battlefield casualty count.
