England beat New Zealand 26-19 in a WXV Global Series test at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, on September 26, handing the Black Ferns their first defeat under coach Whitney Hansen after seven wins in 2026. New Zealand led 12-7 at halftime through tries by Amy du Plessis and Ayesha Leti-I'iga, and Mererangi Paul's converted try levelled the score at 19-19 with 10 minutes left. With time up, New Zealand ran the ball from deep in their own territory instead of settling for a draw, and Zoe Harrison intercepted a pass and scored the converted winning try. The win extended England's unbeaten run to 41 matches before a crowd of 59,871.
