Otzma Yehudit Files Bid to Bar Democrats From Israel Election

Otzma Yehudit and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir filed a request with the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the Democrats list, led by Yair Golan, from the election to the 26th Knesset. The filing invokes Section 7A of Basic Law: The Knesset and alleges incitement to racism and denial of Israel's character as a Jewish and democratic state. The party cited remarks by Golan about Homesh settlers and Haredim, as well as statements concerning Channel 14, civil disobedience and reserve service. The committee has not announced a decision.
