IDF Orders Yom Kippur Reinforcements Across All Fronts

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered additional forces deployed across the Northern, Central and Southern Commands for Yom Kippur, beyond units already in the field. The order puts a senior commander on duty in every sector and increases the number of armed Air Force aircraft kept ready. The Navy will add missile boats and personnel to vessels on routine border-security patrols, while Home Front Command headquarters and districts will be staffed by senior officers. Additional standby companies and General Staff reserve forces will remain available for rapid deployment; no change to public instructions was announced.
