Colombia Military Reports 702 Arrests in August Security Operations

The Colombian Armed Forces reported 702 arrests during operations from August 7 to 30, along with 35 surrenders, 21 deaths during operations and more than 30 minors recovered. The balance said forces seized 14,634 kilograms of cocaine, 613 kilograms of coca paste, 6,051 kilograms of marijuana and 17,105 kilograms of coca leaf. It also listed 926 explosive devices and 19,778 rounds seized, plus 11 cocaine-hydrochloride laboratories and 103 coca-paste laboratories located. The figures were not independently corroborated.
