President Abelardo De La Espriella said Operation Azarías killed 20 members of the Carolina Ramírez Front in Lagos del Dorado, Miraflores, Guaviare, raising the government’s initial toll of eight. He said five people were captured and two minors recovered, bringing the number affected to 27. Authorities identified alias Tigre, or Pintado, described as the front’s principal commander and an associate of Iván Mordisco, among the dead through fingerprint testing. The president said forces seized 26 rifles, four machine guns, three pistols, 10 field kits and 13 multipurpose vests.
