Colombia Says Army Killed FARC Dissident Commander Known as Felipe

Colombian President Abelardo De La Espriella said the Army killed a FARC dissident commander known as “Felipe” or “Arcadio” during an early-morning offensive in Valle del Cauca. He identified the man as commander of the Rodrigo Arias company in the Jaime Martínez structure linked to Iván Mordisco. Authorities attributed explosive-drone attacks on police stations in Dagua and El Queremal, attacks along the Cali-Buenaventura road, extortion and threats to him. Troops seized an M4 rifle, three magazines, 85 rounds and a telescopic sight, according to the president.
