German investigators found a third drone in a field beside Leipzig/Halle Airport and later discovered a substance believed to be about 50 grams of the military explosive RDX at the site, according to joint investigative reporting. The drone was found on August 14 near Kabelsketal, while federal prosecutors declined to comment publicly. Investigators believe multiple drones were involved in the earlier attempted attack on a Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft used to transport military goods. They are examining several leads, including a possible Russian intelligence role, which Russia has denied.
