There has been an overwhelming response from the Australian people to the Emergency Action Alliance appeal, which has now reached over $1.4m in donations. As a result, the government will provide a further $1 million to the EAA appeal.
Australia is deploying a further $3m in humanitarian assistance, following the devastating floods along the Nepal-China border. This includes $2m in supplies and other humanitarian support to be delivered by the ADF in the coming days.
While this is a welcome development, there remain grave concerns for the other Australians who remain unaccounted for, and our officials are continuing to work closely with local authorities to locate and assist those affected.

I've spoken with Nepali FM @shisir to convey Australia's deep condolences & support for the Nepali people. I affirmed that Australia stands ready to provide further humanitarian assistance incl. to aid rescue & recovery efforts as we work to confirm the welfare of those missing.
