Nepal Flood Toll Reaches 903 With 4,247 Still Missing

Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said 903 bodies had been recovered and 4,247 people remained missing after the Bhotekoshi flood as of 9 a.m. on August 31. It reported 10,451 people rescued and 267 injured, including 156 who had been discharged. The missing included 592 foreign nationals, 127 Nepalis traveling with foreigners, 83 security personnel and 933 people linked to hydropower projects. The flood began on August 26, and authorities said 20,819 security personnel and six surgical teams were supporting the response.
