Tens of Thousands Gather at Western Wall for Sukkot Priestly Blessing

Tens of thousands of worshippers gathered at Jerusalem's Western Wall on September 28 for the first of two Sukkot priestly blessing ceremonies, according to a report published during the morning service. Morning prayers began at 8:45 a.m., and the first blessing began before the additional service. Israel's chief rabbis, the rabbi of the Western Wall and Jerusalem's mayor attended. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation scheduled another ceremony for October 1 to allow more worshippers to take part and set up three sukkahs at the plaza for holiday visitors.
