China's National Bureau of Statistics reported that profits at industrial enterprises above its designated size rose 4.2% in August from a year earlier. Their combined profits for January through August reached 5.27198 trillion yuan, an increase of 15.7% from the same period in 2025. Manufacturing profits rose 17.4% over those eight months, while profits in computer, communications and other electronics manufacturing rose 109.9%. NBS chief statistician Yu Weining said August's slower growth partly reflected a higher comparison base a year earlier. The figures were released on September 28.
