Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it dismantled an industrial-scale methamphetamine laboratory at Isiata Ugoni Okposi in Ebonyi State and arrested Mexican national Arturo Carrera Loaiza at Lagos airport. NDLEA chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa said location data from photographs led investigators to the property, where agents searched on August 30 after footage showed chemicals and equipment being removed nine days earlier. The agency reported recovering hundreds of kilograms of chemicals plus equipment bearing methamphetamine residue. Loaiza denied involvement, saying a Nigerian contact had invited him to pursue a restaurant venture; the allegations have not been tested in court.
