India and China Reaffirm Boundary Settlement Goal at 25th Talks

India and China reaffirmed their goal of a fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable boundary settlement during the 25th round of Special Representatives' talks in Beijing. Ajit Doval and Wang Yi discussed delimitation, border management, institutional mechanisms and cross-border cooperation while recommitting to the political parameters agreed in 2005. Both sides welcomed the resumption of the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage and border trade through three designated passes. They agreed to keep diplomatic and military channels open, maintain peace in border areas and hold the next round of talks in India in 2027.
