Abbas Araghchi, Iran's foreign minister, said diplomacy could resume if the United States ends what he described as pressure and takes steps to rebuild trust. In a post after talks with Qatar's prime minister and foreign minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Araghchi called the discussions creative and said a diplomatic path could return. He said Washington would need to speak respectfully, recognize Iran's rights and uphold its commitments. The statement set conditions for possible renewed diplomacy but did not announce negotiations, an agreement or a timetable.
