Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Tuesday that a missile-and-drone response to fresh U.S. strikes had begun against American bases and interests across the region. The IRGC said the operation started minutes before its communiqué and described it as retaliation for U.S. attacks hours earlier on several locations, especially in southern Iran. The statement was issued by IRGC Public Relations and named no official. It did not identify individual targets or report impacts, casualties or damage. The announcement’s operational claims had not been independently verified, and the IRGC said results would be reported later.
