Praise be to God, there is good news for all of us. Over the past two days, June 9–10, 2026, the rupiah and the IHSG strengthened significantly. Congratulations and thank you to the state and the government. Hopefully this is a good beginning and a good sign. This good news proves that what I said last May 2026 was not wrong. The government, of course led by our President Prabowo Subianto, still has the political and economic resources to address the economic pressures we are feeling today. Our monetary and fiscal authorities still have options and solutions available. The government succeeded in stopping the systematic, consecutive and substantial weakening of the rupiah and the IHSG. That is why the policies implemented by Bank Indonesia, naturally in synergy with the government, became one of the positive factors in stopping the rupiah and the IHSG from collapsing. Otherwise, the weakening of our stocks and currency could have become unstoppable. The reason is that the factors of the real economy, especially our fiscal situation and state budget, including the debt burden weighing us down, have merged with psychological factors and negative market perceptions. Looking ahead to the coming days, we hope the government will continue taking steps to stabilize the economy. To put our state budget on a healthier footing. To limit and control the amount of government debt. To prevent increases in the prices of goods and services that could hit people's lives. To restore investor confidence. To improve communication so that government policies and actions are understood more effectively by the people and the market. To stop various forms of speculation and uncertainty. No less important is protecting our people who have been severely affected by the economic situation, including the impact of rising fuel prices. I know, having gained extensive experience handling economic pressure like this when I led Indonesia before, that all these government efforts will of course take time. They need stronger public support. Remember: in crucial things, unity. In important things, dialogue, and giving space to a diversity of constructive views. Rational thinking, sound policies and serious concrete action are extremely important. *SBY*
