Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for New York early Thursday to address the United Nations General Assembly, with his speech scheduled for 2 p.m. local time. He is expected to spend only several hours in the United States and return to Israel without staying overnight. He is expected to meet Argentine President Javier Milei and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša, while no meeting with US President Donald Trump is scheduled. Iran is expected to feature prominently in the speech, which comes just over a month before Israel's October 27 election; protests and walkouts are expected.
