Thailand rallied from two goals down to beat Kyrgyzstan 3-2 at Toyota Stadium in Aichi, Japan, in its opening Asian Games men's football Group A match. Kuduret Iskandarbekov put Kyrgyzstan ahead in the 23rd minute, and Aitenir Balbakov doubled the lead shortly after halftime. Jehanafi Mama headed in Thailand's first goal before substitute Pariphan Wongsa scored twice in four minutes, equalizing in the 69th minute and completing the comeback in the 73rd. The win gave Thailand three points ahead of its September 20 match against Hong Kong; the group's top two teams advance.
