Apple Unveils $1,999 iPhone Duo, Its First Foldable Smartphone

Apple introduced iPhone Duo at its Cupertino headquarters, calling it the company’s first foldable iPhone. The device has a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display, an A20 Pro chip and a precision hinge, and it will be offered in two colors with 256GB to 2TB of storage. U.S. pricing starts at $1,999. Preorders open October 16, with availability beginning October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions; hardware engineering chief John Ternus described the design as the most significant change to iPhone since the original.
