Hundreds Attend Australia Vigils for Nepal and Tibet Flood Victims

Hundreds of people gathered at candlelight vigils in Brisbane and Darwin on Sunday evening to mourn victims of the Nepal and Tibet floods. Participants remembered those killed and missing as search and recovery operations continued across the disaster zone. Australia announced a further A$3 million in assistance and deployed 12 additional crisis-response officials to support affected communities and Australians in the region. The government said 42 Australians remained unaccounted for while officials continued trying to confirm their safety and whereabouts.
