Caixa Q2 Recurring Profit Rises 5.9% to R$3.9 Billion

Caixa Econômica Federal reported recurring net profit of R$3.9 billion for the second quarter of 2026, 5.9% above a year earlier. Its total credit portfolio reached R$1.448 trillion in June, an 11.9% annual increase, while first-half credit originations rose 16.3% to R$365.6 billion. Mortgage balances reached R$1.005 trillion, giving Caixa 67.9% of Brazil's mortgage market. Loans overdue by more than 90 days rose to 3.64%, and recurring return on equity fell 2.7 percentage points to 9.2%.
