Thirty-Eight Parties Submit Candidate Lists for Israel’s October Election

Representatives submitted 38 candidate lists over two days to Central Elections Committee chair and Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg at the Knesset in Jerusalem. The filings set the field for Israel’s October 27 election to the 26th Knesset, but the committee stressed that submission does not constitute approval. It will review candidates, list names and requested ballot letters, with final approval expected on September 27. Blue and White filed alone, Religious Zionism and Zehut submitted a joint list, while Hadash, Ta’al and Balad revived the Joint List and Ra’am ran separately.
