Bogotá’s Metro Company received prequalification applications from three international groups for the Colombian capital’s second metro line. The applicants combine Mota-Engil and Spie Batignolles companies, Xi’an Metro companies, and Sacyr Concesiones Colombia with CAF Investment Projects. A specialist team will assess legal, financial, experience and technical requirements before qualifying bidders submit technical and economic offers near the end of 2026. The planned 15.5-kilometer line would link Calle 72 with Fontanar del Río in Suba through Engativá, with 11 stations, ten underground and one elevated; the contract and start order are planned for the second half of 2027.
