Netanyahu Says Toppling Iran’s Regime Is Israel’s ‘Central Mission’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Israel’s military leadership that toppling Iran’s government is the country’s “central mission” still ahead. Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast with Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and the General Staff Forum at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu described Iran’s government as faltering, weaker than ever and fighting for survival. He said removing the threat by bringing down the regime was close, achievable and “within reach.” Netanyahu credited Israel’s campaigns since October 7 with historic achievements and warned Israel’s enemies not to test its strength.
