U.S. Sanctions Nearly 60 Iran-Linked Targets in Operation Economic Outcast

The U.S. Treasury launched Operation Economic Outcast and sanctioned nearly 60 entities, individuals and vessels across several jurisdictions. Treasury said the targets supported the Iranian regime through illicit nuclear and missile-technology procurement, cyber operations and oil-revenue networks that sustain the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its terrorist activity. The department also expanded potential secondary-sanctions exposure across the digital-assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping sectors, suspended several general licenses and issued new guidance on shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz. Treasury described the measures as the start of a sustained campaign to cut the regime's economic lifelines.
